About WordPress Updates
WordPress is an open-source publishing platform that is continuously being updated and enhanced by its publishers. WordPress updates are released about every 1-3 months. Whenever a new WordPress version is released, many WordPress plugin developers update their plugins to take advantage of the latest WordPress features or to resolve conflicts that arise because of the changes WordPress made.
We always test the beta versions of WordPress and make sure that our themes and plugins are compatible with the most recent versions of WordPress so that you can update on the first day that updates are available.
We always recommend updating WordPress and plugins as soon as updates are available, and the SNO News & Announcements RSS feed in your dashboard will remind you to update WordPress whenever a new version has been released.
How to Update WordPress
The updating process is simple and painless. Just click the link in the notice bar at the top of your WordPress admin screen and you’ll be walked through the upgrade process. You don’t need to worry about making a backup of your database, as our servers do this for you automatically.
How to Update Plugins
Whenever there are plugin updates available, you’ll see a notice by the Plugins tab on your WordPress dashboard. Just click on Installed Plugins under the Plugins tab, and then, at the top of the screen, click on Update Available. Select all the plugins and then select the Bulk Action for Update and click Apply.
