Sports Center Add-On
This Add-On will allow your Web site to function as the central sports information hub for your school — it’s powerful, and it’s simple to use and update.
The Sports Center Add-On comes with a dedicated page named Sports Center with the following features: standings box widget for conference/playoff standings and state rankings, featured athlete widget, sports schedule widget, sports score scrollbox widget, sports story previews, sports photo featured photo/story scrollbox, and a large table of upcoming games and list of recent results. The widgets can be used in any Widget Area on your site, including your homepage. If you click on a team in either of the schedule or results tables, you’ll be taken to a page with all of results/games, featured athletes, and standings for that particular team. We’ve also included an archive feature for game results that allows readers of your site to see tables with game results from previous years.
Game Schedules and Scores
Your Sports Center page is equipped with a schedule and results compiler for all your sports. If you enter a game into the system, it will automatically be sorted by date and will appear in the upcoming games section as the game approaches. It will also appear automatically in the recent results section once a score has been added. Your homepage has a scrollbox and schedule table that are also generated automatically from this same information. If you click on the name of a sport in either the recent results table or the upcoming games table, you’ll be taken to a page that lists the games just for that particular sport. The Sports Add-On is built using WordPress’s dynamic capabilities. You enter the information once, and WordPress makes sure it flows to multiple places.
Sports Center Settings
The Sports Center Add-On includes an admin options panel on the Theme Options link under Appearances on the left side of your WordPress dashboard. This options panel allows you to easily control how many games show up in the upcoming games table and the recent results table, how many story previews show, and whether or not to include a featured image/story scrollbox.
